Our organization is seeking an experienced Consulting Animal Technician to join our team in the Healthcare industry. This unique role involves a combination of healthcare, animal science, and veterinary services, focusing primarily on small animals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal health and welfare, with a particular interest in dogs. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires dedication, adaptability, and a love for animals. This position is ideal for individuals who have a background in an animal hospital or animal clinic setting. If you are a certified Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician and have 5+ years of experience in animal care, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive healthcare services to small animals, primarily dogs, under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
2. Conduct regular health assessments, administer medication, and perform minor surgical procedures.
3. Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various animal diseases and injuries.
4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
6. Educate pet owners on preventive healthcare and general animal welfare.
7. Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a clean and safe environment for animals and staff.
8. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with the latest advancements in animal healthcare.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 1 years of experience in animal care, preferably in an animal hospital or animal clinic setting.
2. Certified as an Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician.
3. Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field is preferred.
4. Proven experience with small animals, particularly dogs.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of animal health and diseases.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex medical information to pet owners.
7. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
8. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Compassionate and empathetic approach to animal care.
10. Must be comfortable with handling various types of animals and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
