**Position Overview**
We're seeking an experienced Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our growing team and lead regulatory compliance initiatives for our diverse portfolio of food, flavor, and beverage products. This role requires a seasoned professional who can mentor junior staff while navigating complex domestic and international regulatory landscapes.
**Hours** : M-F 8-5
**Type** : Contract to hire
**Pay** : $30-$35/hour
**Location** : Onsite in San Fernando Valley, CA
**Key Responsibilities**
+ **Regulatory Documentation & Compliance Management** - Collect, review, and maintain comprehensive regulatory and technical documentation from suppliers while ensuring compliance with company standards throughout the supplier approval process.
+ **Product Documentation & Certification Support** - Generate critical product documentation including allergen statements, GMO declarations, ingredient profiles, and country of origin certifications while supporting customer product certification requirements.
+ **International Compliance & Registration** - Analyze international regulations for raw materials and finished products, maintain compliance databases, and prepare documentation for ingredient registration across various foreign markets.
+ **Safety Data Sheet Production & Training** - Lead SDS creation processes, provide expert guidance to team members, and ensure proper understanding of safe shipping requirements across all product lines.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ **Educational Foundation** - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or related scientific discipline with 3-5 years of proven regulatory affairs experience in food, flavor, or beverage industries.
+ **Certification Expertise** - Demonstrated experience with Halal, Kosher, and Organic certification processes, with preferred knowledge of international regulatory frameworks.
+ **Technical & Analytical Skills** - Strong problem-solving abilities using logic and reasoning, exceptional attention to detail, and high proficiency in MS Office Suite and database management systems.
+ **Communication & Leadership** - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience training and mentoring less experienced regulatory professionals.
