What We Offer:

\n

Flexible Shifts:  Choose from 2 to 12-hour shifts per week, available between 7 AM-7:30 PM or 7 PM-7: 30AM. Each scheduling period includes 3 night shifts and 3 weekend shifts, with an additional $2.00 per hour for off-shift work. 1 summer and 1 winter holiday is required within this status

Generous Sign-On Bonuses:  Eligible candidates can receive sign-on bonuses of $7500 for new graduates and $10,000 for nurses with 1+ years of experience, with a two-year commitment.

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Experience : 1+ years preferred.

\n
• Interpersonal Skills : Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.

\n
• Productivity : Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment and handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.

\n
• Clinical Judgment : Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care.

\n
• Leadership : Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and lead others in the application of the nursing process.

\n
• Physical Requirements : Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

• Education : BSN preferred.

\n
• Internship : Completion of UPMC student nurse internship or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred.

\n
• Compensation : RN rates will be determined by experience/department equity.

\n

Titles and Rates:

\n

\n
• Professional Staff Nurse : $33.75

\n
• Sr. Professional Staff Nurse (2 Years of Experience): Starts at $37.41

\n
• Sr. Professional Staff Nurse II (3 Years of Experience): Starts at $40.47

\n
• Professional Staff Nurse, Expert (4 Years of Experience): Starts at $45.00

\n

\n

 

\n

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

\n

\n
• Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

\n
• Temporary Practice Permit (TPP). Graduate Nurses must complete the licensure examination within 4 months of hire  or within one year of graduation- whichever comes first. UPMC requires that GNs take the licensure examination within 4 months of their start date, or they will be terminated or demoted from the GN position, at the discretion of the BU.

\n
• UPMC-approved national certification is preferred.

\n
• NIH Certification will be required within 6 months of hire.

\n
• CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

\n
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

\n
• Act 33, 34, and 73 with renewal.

\n
